Executive Chef At Vila Baleira
Manuel Santos, originally from Lobão, Santa Maria da Feira, was born on July 10, 1984, and from an early age showed a passion for cooking, helping his grandmother and mother in the kitchen. He graduated in Culinary Arts and Pastry from the Hospitality School of Santa Maria da Feira (1999–2002), and later in Hotel Management from the Hospitality and Tourism School of Porto (2002–2004), always balancing his studies with hands-on experience in catering and hospitality.
In 2001, he had his first professional experience in the industry at Hotel Vila Baleira in Porto Santo. After a brief stint in the Algarve, he returned to the island, where he embraced significant challenges and solidified his career. Passionate about Portuguese gastronomy, he is committed to promoting local products and traditional recipes, blending authenticity with innovation in his dishes.
In 2012, he became Head Chef of the resort, standing out for his dedication and leadership. With talent and determination, he helped establish Hotel Vila Baleira as a benchmark on the island, building a solid career true to his passion for the culinary arts.
